Quicken Shuts Down
For the past week or so I have had an issue with Quicken shutting down during the download process. It has been taking an unusually long time to update accounts, and then, for no apparent reason, the program closes. But if I go back and run an update a second time, it goes through as it should. Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, do you know why?

Difficult, if not impossible to know what's happening here. It might be best if you reported this problem to Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation. Let them review your download log files, to see if something's left a footprint in there.
Before you do that, however, I recommend you do the following:
- Even if you are on the latest software level already, download and install the latest Manual Patch file from to ensure your Quicken software is up to date and correctly installed.
- Reboot Windows.
- Start Quicken. Do not run One Step Update.
- Run BOTH Validate and Supervalidate to attempt to repair your Quicken data file.
- If nothing helps, try to restore your Quicken data file from an Automatic or Manual backup taken just prior to the problems first occurring.
Validate and Supervalidate instructions
