When I set up recurring transfers and then go in to enter a particular instance, it does not default to 'Transfer'. Instead, I always have to choose between a 'Transfer' and a 'DebitCard' transaction type. Why can't I select this when I set up the recurring transfer, so I don't have to constantly choose it every time.

How do you add a new Scheduled Reminder?
I always use the "classic" Tools / Manage Bill & Income Reminders function and then select "Add" from the Menu and "Transfer Reminder" from a popup.

Clicking Next I get a dialog to select the From and To bank accounts and fill out all the remaining items

Defining this reminder with an amount greater than zero (0.00) gives me a reminder that knows which way the money must flow: from Checking to Savings.

Is that how you add your reminder?

Thanks. Yes - this is how I had the reminder. My issue is that when I go to post the transfer reminder, the 'Method/Check' field does not default to 'Transfer'. Instead, there is always a choice between 'Transfer' and DebitCard'. I want it to default to 'Transfer', but I don't know if that is possible.

For as long as I have used Quicken for Windows, it has never done that.

IMHO, an entry in the Check# field really isn't required to denote a transfer. I keep this field blank, except for when I'm writing checks. The Payee Name and optionally the Memo text identify the transaction's purpose for me.
