Current Spending vs Average Spending by payee - question on dates

Great report but how do I compare YTD with comparative timeframe from prior year?
Custom dates are only allowed in one comparison period. Periods are not granular enough.
For example I want to compare 1/1/23-8/4/23 with 1/1/24-8/4/24.
Thanks

The report would have to have its functionality changed.
The "compare range" is always the "Last xxxx" you can't specify a custom period of time to compare to.

Thankyou.

Note that the Income/Expense by Category comparison DOES allow for a like-period comparison. You can certainly customize that report to only spending categories and similar to get to a very similar place.

That report didnt work either, you cannot compare two date specific periods.

I believe it does do what you want

Weird. I dont have "year to date" or "prior year period" as options. I am on Windows r58.9.

@q_lurker has selected a different report. This isn't the "average" one.
The one with the averages doesn't have year to date as a option.
