R58.9 Quicken can't locate Backup location from the prompt on closing only
R58.9, and 58.8, When Quicken Classic asks when closing the software if I want to back up my data file (every 5 closures, I think), the location can not be found.
It is saving to a NAS, only the last two upgrades since this started. Get a small window displaying that the location can not be found, but it doesn't list the entire location in the error message, just the root location.
It will save as expected when using Ctl-B, no problem. Same user interface. Just different way to get there.
It loads the most recent file flawlessly as well. It is only the autosave prompted dialog that fails to work.

There are two places where one can / needs to specify backup file paths:
- For Automatic Backups in Edit / Preferences / Backup (performed automatically upon close of Quicken)
- For Manual Backups (initiated by CTRL-B or File / Copy or Backup or upon close of Quicken) in a dialog prompt.
Automatic Backups, by default go to a \Backup subfolder under the same folder which contains your Quicken data file, e.g. \Documents\Quicken goes to \Documents\Quicken\Backup
This backup location can be changed by clicking on the "Change" link, see belowManual Backup locations can be specified in the prompt dialog when you start a backup
If this dialog does not appear when you start a backup, try to "Reset Quicken warnings" in Edit / Preferences / Alerts & Messages and restart Quicken.
IMHO, it's best to set both numbers in "… after running Quicken [xx] times" to "1", to ensure you get a backup every time you close Quicken at the end of the day.
Automatic and Manual Backup files should be directed to different disk drives or USB devices, to avoid losing both your active data files and all your backups in the event of a failure of your internal hard drive or the PC.
