Phantom Reauthorizations

First, let me state that from time to time a FI might ask me to reauthroize the accounts and provides a dialog with links to their websitein Quicken. I login, approve, they send me back to Quicken, I select the proper account and Link to Existing. Expected. But two things now are NOT expected:

  1. This is now happening too often. In the last week I had to do this for three FI's!
  2. I am getting phantoms.

I get emails with one time codes. Usually when I have issues trying to add an Online Biller. But tonight, for example, I got email from AMEX with a one time code! When that happens, again usually, I open Quicken, do an OSU and then AMEX would have a yellow triangle next to it in billers. I click fixiit and get a dialog for maybe login and password and the one time code. This time, AMEX is just fine in Quicken. No exclamation mark. Yet the email.

I only have AMEX in my Live file (not test) and only one Amex account. AND, I did a real reauthorization earlier in the week.

Why the phantoms?

For grins, I shall try to login to their website. Nope, seamless. As I expected. So I truly believe somewhow it is Quicken doing something (I do not use mobile nor sync in the cloud) that causes the FI to think I need to reauthorize..
