Why is Amount Invested incorrect on Portfolio View

Windows 10 Enterprise - Quicken Version R58.9

I purchased a stock (ADBE) at three different times several years ago. I have never sold the stock and it does not pay a dividend. When I go to the Investing Tab → Portfolio view everything looks correct for the stock except the Amount Invested is significantly higher than it should be.

To try and see what is going on, I sorted my register by security to verify there were only three transactions. This is what that looks like.

The portfolio view looks like this:

Everything looks correct here except the amount invested is way off. This results in a negative ROI which is clearly not the case.

What could be causing this?

I think I stumbled on the solution to this. In the portfolio view if I select Options → Portfolio preferences and then select show return calculations from: earliest available date, everything looks correct. It was previously set to January 1, 2024. Not sure why this affects the Amount Invested, but it appears that it does.

When you set that other starting date, the premise is that you started with the 12/31/23 value as Amount Invested.
