Memorized payee list/ Do you want to change reconciled transaction.

When going to an account I try to enter a new transaction. I start typing the information in, and up comes the memorized payee list? So, I change the information and when I click save, I get "are you sure you want to change a reconciled ® Transaction. I have actually had the same thing for years and am getting frustrated with it. I like the memorized payee list, but it doesn't want to let me change things, that it automatically enters? Thanks Bruce

    Not sure when was the last time you did memorized list maintenance, but you may want to clear some old memorized payees that you have as well as unlock those payees that you frequently change. Access this through Tools—Memorized Payee list. See if that helps

    I understand thanks, there are several instances that I use my name in different accounts; also, there a few others. I wanted to try without cleaning those I use on a regular basis out of the list; and wasn't sure if that was possible.

    I don't quite understand why you're getting a message regarding a reconciled transaction when you're trying to enter a new register transaction based on an entry in the MPL.

    Firing a shot into the dark … could it be that, when you originally memorized this Payee, you used an already reconciled transaction to create the MPL entry from?
    If this is the case, go into the MPL and edit the entry. See if there is a checkmark in the box "Mark as cleared" (next to the Amount field) and click it to remove the checkmark. Click OK to save the change.

    Now go back to the register and try creating a new register transaction using this Payee. Still the same message?

    I ended up deleting them, I actually had my name 5 times that would deposit or take out, and when I wanted to do something else the memorized list would come up. When the list would come up, I would pick one, and it would always come up on the enter.

    are you sure you want to change a reconciled? Then when I would get things changed it would say I needed to put in a date. Then it would do the date again every time I entered it, even though I put one it. Not sure this makes sense. I think it takes that particular one in the memorized payee and think it is the one I have already done? For some reason. I will try the clear the next time it comes up. thanks
