I have the latest version (Q Win R58.9) but quicken keeps trying to update, then rolls back

When i run Check for Updates it says i have the latest 58.9. However whenever i start Quicken or start one-step update, it tries to run an update, which fails at "updating files" and then rolls back. see screenshot.
anyone else seeing this? if so is there a way to prevent it?

When the "Rolling back files" process completes, are there any error messages or is there a button to display an error log? Please show us the messages or the log's contents.

sorry for not responding sooner. there was a button to view details but nothing happened when i clicked it.
in the meantime I've managed to update to R59.6 by re-installing the app from the quicken.com website, so we can close this out for now.
