When adding new contacts other than those imported from Quicken Classic, I am unable to enter anything in the "role or relation" field for the contact. The dropdown box has "no items" so I cannot add "son", "doctor" etc. Fatal error.

Thanks for reporting it to us.
Our team wants to get to the bottom of this.
I can't reproduce this issue, which isn't at all to say that the issue doesn't exist, just that I need more information to proceed.

I'm using Microsoft Edge on Windows 11. Error still exists as of this morning.
