investment account market value and cash report

I'm using Quicken Classic on Windows.

I'd like a very simple report with 3 columns - investment account name, market value, and value of cash and cash equivalents. I know the INVESTING > PORTFOLIO view shows cash for each investment account when expanded, but this is inconvenient when there are many accounts, so I'm looking for the simple 3 column report described above. So far I have not seen any solution for this. How can this be done?

Sorry, there is no built in report like that in Quicken, with one row per account and a column for the cash.

Also how do you define "cash equivalents"? Does it include cash held in money market funds for example?

You could set up a Portfolio view grouped by Accounts and including the columns you want then export to Excel and manipulate the data there.

Not exactly what you are after, but …

I have a portfolio view set up to show only cash and MM holdings in all my investment accounts. Considering that adjacent to that is the Account Bar with each account's total value, all the info you seek is on one screen, just not in one 'report'.

A caution on the 'Cash' portfolio view - each time I acquire a new security, I have to remove that new security from the that cash view's security list, as new securities automatically get added to the include list.
