Account Type --- problems activating a PayPal account [edited title]
Quicken Windows Subscription. I have created an account for PayPal. When the account is created the account type comes up checking not credit. I have deleted the account numerous timesand re-installed bu it is always "Checking." How do I change it to "Credit?"

Which Financial Institution name did you use for the account?
When I began, but didn't complete, the process (just now) of adding a Paypal account, I was offered both "Paypal" and "Paypal Credit" as FI names.
What you've shown as the account name has no bearing upon the account type.

I tried to add the account again by selecting PayPal Credit, Mastercard and Crypto (my only other choice besides PayPal). I have a PayPal Mastercard along with a PayPal Credit account. All that was found was the Mastercard, not the credit account.

The "Paypal" name should allow connectivity to your credit account.
PayPal https://www.paypal.com/us/home 1-888-221-1161 https://www.paypal.com/us/home ACTIVE BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT
Have you Authorized Paypal to do the connectivity?

No PayPal Credit account, just the credit card account.
