I have been advised by Transamerica that they discontinued the download of transactions is a QFX file. Do you know what the issue is?

Financial Institutions (FIs) own the decision for which connection method(s) they will support. And FIs do sometimes change the connection method(s) they support or even change whether or not they will support Quicken at all. This decision is not owned by Quicken nor the aggregator (Intuit).

Following is what the FIDIR file shows for Transamerica. (The FIDIR is the FI Directory and it lists every FI that supports Quicken, which types of accounts they support and which connection methods they support.):

    60261 60261 60261 Transamerica Life Insurance Compan https://www.transamericaannuities.com/TAContent/Content.aspx?ID=Home_Page 877-717-8858 https://www.transamericaannuities.com/Login/Login.aspx ACTIVE BANKING,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT NOT_QBP NA

What this says is that currently Transamerica supports only Banking (i.e., checking and savings) accounts and they support only the Express Web Connect (or Express Web Connect+) connection method. For whatever reason, Transamerica made the decision to stop supporting Web Connect (manual downloading and importing data in QFX formatted files) and only they will be able to tell you why they made that decision.

I just found the same issue with Transamerica. I gave ImportQIF a try. I use it with my Highmark HSA too. After spending a few minutes mapping the csv file, I find it actually works better for me. (I always had to go in and change the shares from Bought/Sold to Added/Removed.) With ImportQIF, I can map that up front. It is definitely worth a try.
