Windows — Quicken release 558.14

When my US T-Bills mature I receive 2 entries both show Action as Deposit with the description as US T-Bills Matured. The first shows no cash transaction the second shows the amount deposited. However, the T-Bill is not removed from my holdings. I have make a transaction to remove the T-Bill. What's up with this?

T-bill securities and any other bond type instrument should be Sold in Quicken when the security matures. The general recommendation is to sell for the cost basis of the security and record the balance as interest received, but other approaches can also work. If your financial institution does not download to your satisfaction, you should make the transactions manually.

Why doesn't Quicken just fix this. — they record it as matured. No help, sorry.

A financial institution sends a transaction with conflicting information - one place they say it is a deposit; another place they say matured. You say you want the program (actually the programmers) to resolve the conflict in this case with preference to the memo over the action.

That would be, in my opinion, a totally unacceptable resolution. Action, a required field for any transaction, should have higher precedence over the memo, a non-required field.

The problem here rests with the financial institution. They need to fix their problem.
