Quicken Connection to Vanguard Accounts

I'm posting this just FYI, and in case others may find this issue.

I've had an account with Vanguard for years. I initially (years ago) set up this account for updating through Quicken. Then … a year or two ago … Vanguard required a move over to their new "brokerage account". (Not sure why, but …!!) When I made that switch, I opened the new Vanguard Brokerage Account, and basically it transferred all info and entries from the old account into the new one. When that was done, I zeroed out the old account, and "disabled" it in Quicken. I then "hid" the account so I could use it if needed for reference later.

Now, I had all my Vanguard info in the new "brokerage account", and it updated just fine in Quicken for at least a year. Within the last few days, I began receiving an error when trying to update my Vanguard account. At first, I didn't catch the issue. Today, I was rejected during a OSU, and I noted that the error said that Quicken tried to download TWO Vanguard accounts, and that one of those was not recognized. I went to the hidden (old) Vanguard account and looked to see if it was trying to connect on the updates. YEP! Somehow (and I didn't do it!), the old account had reverted to trying to connect via Web Connect during OSU's. I "deactivated" that account and tried again to update. Worked fine!

I don't know whether a recent Quicken update was the cause, or whether it was somehow on the Vanguard side. In any case, it seems to be resolved by the deactivation of the old account.

Just in case others have similar issues …
