Phantom fractional shares reported for bonds in Schwab accounts

During Quicken downloads, a couple of my Schwab accounts will sometimes report a quantity mismatch between what I am showing in Quicken and what Schwab is reporting. For example, I am holding 100 units of a certain bond and the mismatch popup says Schwab is reporting 100.04.

I have only seen this error with regard to bonds held (not stocks) and I have a hunch it may be restricted to only bonds whose cost basis has manually been entered (or adjusted) on the Schwab side (i.e., when Schwab did not have the original cost data).

I recall reading somewhere that someone experienced something similar on a non-Schwab account as well. Has anyone else seen this issue?

It is not a critical problem since you can tell Quicken to ignore it, which prevents Quicken from creating an undesired placeholder,

I have seen this in my Schwab account also. I believe you are correct that it only happens with bonds but I am not sure about the cost issue. I'll pay more attention next time I see it. I usually just ignore the error and it goes away the next day
