I don't get Error 2005 but I haven't been able to connect to Cambridge Investment Research recently either. I'm using Quicken for Windows.
Had the same issue. Contacted Cambridge Tech Support @ 888-245-0452. They informed me the front end financial institution has changed, including the URL.
Old: Cambridge Investment Research - www2.netxselect.com New: NetXInvestor - www.netxinvestor.com
In Quicken (after saving a backup), I edited each associated account and "Deactivated" online services. Next I selected to add an account and entered NetXInvestor as the financial institution, followed by entering my ID/Password. NOTE: Be sure to enter your 3 character Cambridge financial organization ID in front of your ID (no space). (The instructions are on the Quicken screen.)
Once I connected successfully, I was presented with my Cambridge account list. I then linked each one to the existing corresponding account in Quicken. (If you failed to deactivate online services for the accounts, you won't see the account in the link list.)
Deactivating my Cambridge connection and then adding it as a NetXInvestor one worked for me. THANKS!!
