Getting "You need login information from Vanguard" error
Hi all,
I'm running Quicken Classic Premier for Windows, Version R59.6, Build 27.1.59.6.
I am trying to add a Vanguard investment account to my Quicken accounts. I am getting an error:
I can login to my Vanguard account on the web with the same username and password I am entering into Quicken. According to Vanguard documentation, the same credentials should be all I need for Direct Connect:
What I have tried:
- Verifying I am using the correct username and password via the browser for my Vanguard account.
- Verified I have no other accounts in my Account List with Vanguard, so no existing accounts are causing the issue.
- Started a new file just for testing and got the same result, so the error is not associated with my current file.
- Chatted with a Quicken chat support specialist who suggested some of the steps above, and ultimately suggested contacting Vanguard or escalating the issue on Monday morning.
- Verified Vanguard supports Direct Connect (above), and that I cannot turn off MFA on my Vanguard account to test whether that would work.
Has anyone else set up a new Vanguard account recently? Did you get this error? Any ideas for next steps? My work hours coincide with Quicken's support phone line hours, and I'd like to resolve this without taking work time.
