seeing bill and payment reminders in different account

I am stumped. I have a data file with my mother's finances. She gets two annuity payments and social security. I have another data file with a trust account.

When I start Quicken and open the trust account, I am seeing the annuity and social secure income reminders. I can't figure out why. The deposits were always done in my mother's data file and not the trust. I don't have them linked in any way that I know of. It's driving me nuts.

So, you have two completely separate files, and scheduled transactions from one file are appearing in the other?

One question: when you created the second file (be it your file or your Mother's), did you happen to duplicate one file to use/modify for the second account?

I had a very similar issue recently. There was a scheduled payment that was set to pay from a specific account (this is a repeating payment, occurring every 3 months). I categorized this future payment and then, afterwards, the scheduled payment appeared in a different account (though with the same bank) as a future scheduled payment. I decided to follow this through and waited until the actual payment date. Since the actual payment was automatically made from the correct account, I simply deleted from my Q register what had been the future payment from the wrong account. Definitely an error of some type, but I never did anything that should have changed the account from which that payment was to be made.

I don't think i copied anything. If I remember I Created a new account. It's very weird. And I never had anything sync or any cloud service turned on. Funny thing is, In the Trust account when I go to bill and income transfers I get the initial screen to set it up, so there's definitely never been transactions before.

Thanks. Did you actually create a new data file or simply create an account in your data file? You mentioned both. (The latter will obviously have scheduled transactions across all accounts.)

I asked about duplicating the data file because, even if they have different filenames, the ID used for syncing is the same and can lead to cross talk between files. I know you aren't using online services such as sync, but scheduled transactions still appear to get synced.

I use the same quicken ID with all accounts. I was able to delete the recurring reminders in the trust account. They are gone and didn't mess up the reminders in my mother's account. It's just weird. All good now!
