CD Display

Question

I have a number of CDs, which are displayed under Banking.  I added another one today and after I set up the account, it was placed under Investing.  Thinking about it, Investing sounds like a more logical home for the CDs than Banking, but I can't figure out how to move them.  When I go to the Edit function, it allows me to rearrange the accounts within Banking or Investing, but not to move them from Banking to Investing or vice versa.  How do I do this?

Depending on the Account Type you used when creating the account register, you can "move" Banking account registers between Banking and Investment account groups.

To do so, go into Edit Account Details of the account register, select the Display Options tab.

Under "Account Intent" you can select which group the account should be listed in.

Exception to the rule: Account registers created as Investment or Retirement accounts cannot be relocated to any other group.
