Downloaded Transactions have a Payee Name of `

I have a Windows 11 device. For the past week or more, all of my downloaded transactions have the same payee name. The payee name is the keyboard character " ` ". This happens with all of my accounts with several different banks. My Memorized Payee List is still accurate. This appears to have started after the most recent Quicken update (Release R59.10)

    Hello @dczysz,

    To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate: 

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

    If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

    I've completed both the Validate File and Super Validate File. Still having the same problem. Any one else ever experience this issue?

    Next thing to check would be if there is a bad Renaming Rule in effect.
    See if there's one which resets all Payee Names to "`" and delete it.

    You can also hover the mouse pointer over a downloaded transaction in the tab area and see if it shows up some more information and lets you "revert to downloaded payee name"

    While we're on that subject …
    please review the settings in Edit / Preferences / Downloaded Transactions.

    Using the three highlighted settings should prevent incorrect Renaming Rules from being created automatically. Quicken should prompt you when a new renaming rule is about to be created.
