Separate Category and Transfer Option in Schedule Transaction window

I want to create a Scheduled Transaction with a CATEGORY: Equipment Purchase, and TRANSFER to account: Equipment-Name. Currently the Schedule Transaction window does not allow for BOTH Category and Transfer. I need this so I can create tax reports that include the Category, then I want to monitor the Liability Account transfer to be able to see how much I owe on the financed equipment. I know I can create a Transfer with Memo or Tag, but it's complicated to create Reports with Categories, Tags, and Memos together.
