Slow Transaction Entry - Manual & Downloaded - Windows 11
I am still experiencing painfully slow transaction entry. Its almost bearable (almost) when entering one or two manual transactions, but when you have 50+ investment transactions to accept it takes way too long (particularly if you have to specify lots).
I've been a Quicken user since 1994. This used to happen when you had too much data. But now I perform a year-end file, and use recent data only, making sure that all accounts have been fully reconciled and cleared.
I've done a validation and a super validation.
I have reported the problem and sent in all the logs, 3x,
I'm told this is a known problem with the developers and it is specific to Windows 11 users. But to be clear: I've been using Quicken on my Windows 11 OS for 2+years and this was not an issued UNTIL about 2 months ago.
This is a serious disruption in service. Quicken Developers should stop doing any more patches/releases and focus on this issue exclusively until it is fixed.
There is no reason anyone should be paying for a subscription with such an awful client experience. But support just tell me "To bad, its technology, what do you want from us? Be patient". Well its been 2+months and no release of fix in sight.
Maybe others experiencing the same can comment and maybe if there are enough it will help push Quicken to make this a priority.

Therein, most likely, lies the catch. You seem to be an active investor and there are some limitations which, when exceeded, will cause poor performance.
How many investment transactions do you have in your investment account register?
How many securities do you have in your Quicken data file?
How many Placeholder transactions are lurking in your account register? These do need to be resolved first! Please consider this:
Archive Investment Transactions
For a couple of years now, a new function has been available in Quicken, Archive Transactions. It will split your investment account register into two parts, leaving only those securities' transactions where you currently hold >0 shares in the active register. The rest is moved to a new Archive register within the current data file.Having less transactions in your active register might improve performance.
Please read and carefully follow instructions here:
How To Archive Investment Transactions To Improve Performance | Quicken
Eventually, after a couple of years, you might consider splitting your datafile in two, with all the archived investment transactions moving to an archive data file and none remaining in the active data file.
