Got a pop-up window showing securities mismatch. How do I resolve it?

LAM Research Corporation had a stock split a couple of weeks ago. As part of the split the security name changed (LAM Research Corporation COM New) apparently but the stock symbol stayed the same. Now, every time I run one step update, I get this pop-up indicating a mismatch. How can I resolve this? Would prefer not having to restore one of my back up files from a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks

I presume you'd like to continue forward with this as a single security. Also presuming that "LAM Research Corporation COM New" is not currently in your Quicken Security List.

    I would:

    • Edit the Security Details for the current "Lam Research Corporation" security in your security list
    • Uncheck the box about "Matched with online security"
    • From the applicable account transaction list, Gear icon upper right
    • Choose Reconcile Shares
    • You should then get the opportunity to match the new LAM to the existing LAM

That should clear the pop up from future downloads.

I appreciate the reply. I got to step 5 and the security mismatch screen came up. How do I complete step 5 above. I get the option to ignore or create a placeholder.

    Ignore for now.

From this selection of Reconcile Shares:

I would have expected you to get a pop up more like this:

You can also try the path: Tools / Online Center. Select account. Select Holding tab. Compare to portfolio button. That should also bring up the same type of Matching Security pop up.

Thanks.. It's strange. I still get the same pop up.

Does the LAM … NEW exist in your Quicken security list? If so, delete it. The StkSplit should refer to the original LAM security

    No, just LAM Research Corporation.

And that LAM Research Corporation is unmatched, does not have a CUSIP in the Security List?

And the list is showing hidden securities (though I don't know why LAM … NEW would be hidden).

Sort of grasping at straws now. Not clear what is wrong.

Very strange. I may have to go in and do a manual change. I really appreciate you taking the time to assist in this.

I just entered the Lam stock split transaction manually. Of course I no longer download any transactions (using Q2017).

I did see on Fidelity site it showed a remove of old shares and an add of new shares. Maybe there is a placeholder for the “new” Lam shares?

I went back and did the same thing. Now when I do a "Reconcile shares", it indicates everything is in agreement. Thanks
