Still unable to connect to american express and gm financial on the bills and income tab. Working in past but not for last 3 weeks. Is there a problem with quicken server connecting to these 2 billers. I am able to download charges into american express registers. It just will not connect on the bills and income tab even when i delete american express and gm financial and add them back it never connects to them

If your bank (the one that runs your checking account) recently required you to reauthorize your checking account and/or your bank has changed from "Direct Connect" to "Express Web Connect" or "Express Web Connect+" you can no longer use Online Bill Pay direct to the bank or Quicken Bill Manager's Quick Pay function. The bank or biller no longer supports this function through Quicken.

IMHO, you have these alternatives (in no particular order of preference):
    1. Use Quicken Bill Manager's Check Pay making sure to submit payment early enough (at least 3 weeks before due date) to allow time for delivery and processing of a paper check. Note: limited number of free transactions per month.
    2. Every month logon to the bank's website and, using the bank's Bill Pay service, schedule your bill pay payments to be executed by the bank from your checking account. In parallel to that, in Quicken use a regular Scheduled Reminder to record your payment. Repeat both actions every time another payment is due.
    3. Bypass Bill Manager. Let the biller's (or credit card company's) computer system do all the work for you. Logon to the biller's website once and set up their Autopay, APS, Direct debit, etc. service to make the current payment and all future payments on Due Date directly from your checking account. In parallel to that, in Quicken, every month, record a regular Scheduled Reminder to keep track of your payments before they come due.
    4. Write (or print with Quicken) a paper check and mail it to the biller, making sure to mail payment early enough (at least 10 days before due date) to allow time for delivery and processing.

I've been using method #3 for decades, since before the Internet and transaction download capabilities were even introduced. It's easy to get used to this process. And I have yet to miss a single payment.

Bills and income tab is next to useless. It cant show when next american express or gm financial bill is due because it cant connect to their computers.

Telling me to use check pay totally defeats the purpose that quicken advertises that you can pay bills electronically.

Telling me to log on to my bank web site and pay bills there creates double work because i then have to enter the check in quicken to keep my register accurate.

Didnit have this issue 1 month ago. Seems like quicken has a serious problem with their software and doesnt want to take the time to correct the problem for the customers.

Using quicken for 20 years and never had this issue before

As I said in my response, some of the banks or billers have stopped supporting Online Bill Pay thru Quicken.
AFAIK, the Federal Government insists that they put more emphasis on protecting their computer systems from hackers worldwide, even if it upsets a number of their customers and disables bill pay.

As a replacement, for those billers where you can't make Online Bill Pay thru Quicken work, use the billers' Autopay process to set up and automate the monthly payment process (as outlined in my earlier response). In your account register set up and use a regular scheduled reminder, to keep your records up to date. That's a few mouse clicks once every month.
