glitchy downloads/reconcile
I have been using Quicken for Windows for nearly 30 years. In the last couple years something has changed, and I now see others referring to the same problem. After downloading my checking and credit accounts, I'll have reconciling issues that just don't make sense. For example, I just ran my monthly update, which included a transfer from one account to the other. The originating transaction reconciled whereas the destination transaction showed nothing (Cleared, Reconciled, etc) at the same time. The transaction took place but no status was assigned when reconciling. So I MANUALLY clicked on Reconciled and it accepted that just fine, showing a balanced account.
I experience this kind of quirk every couple of months, not enough to freak out over, but just enough to disrupt my reconciles, causing me to double-check all transactions before completing my audits. What a pain.
Now, I have a massive file and it loads very slowly and moving around within the file is SLOW. This has gotten really bad in the last year or so. Perhaps they're related. Maybe the file is just too bad and that's why it's glitchy.
If so, can I split my file, so I can have one with my prior years and one from the last year. I'll lose some historical abilities but that's worth it if I could handle the file more easily.
