I know you all won't like this, but I am livid and have to report this problem.
I have a number of times suggested that Quicken has problems with data being shared between investment accounts. Here is the latest disaster that has happened to my data. The account labeled IRA recently had a mutual fund merger. We also owned the fund in other accounts which are in this file. The fund merger was recorded in the IRA using Mutual Fund Conversion as suggested and the account with the conversion actually reconciled to the end of the month the merger occurred. I am hoping to get this done without losing my historical returns and capital gains/losses.
Now when I look at the Account List, my other investment data is obviously very badly buggered.
- The account named 401k Vanguard has had a 0.00 balance and no activity for about 15 years. Suddenly it is showing a balance over $200k.
- The account named PAS Johnson should have a balance of roughly $120k, but shows a balance of over $65 million ( I wish! ).
- Other accounts with $0.00 balances appear to be OK but none of them share the price history with the others which are buggered.
I have not checked the other accounts with balances, but they all look to be within reason.
I'll probably go pour myself a very large cocktail, and then start reloading backup files until I find one I can use to try again. Fortunately, I think the just happened today, and I have been backing up my file every hour or so as I work on it.
