I am reinstalling quicken 2017 after a hard disk crash. MY INTERNET IS ACTIVE!
After the re-installation the "Welcome Qucken User" screen appears telling me that I need to create a new Quicken ID.
when I click on the "Get started " button, the programe stops and I am returned toi my opening screen.
No internet action, nothing !!

IIRC, because your Q product is so old, you'd need to bring over a pre-crash file (say, if you were going to a new computer).

BUT, I suspect that because of the crash, that file might not exist any longer … which means that you're SOL.

You're only option at this point would seem to be to contact Q Support via the link at the top of this page. This forum is a user-to-user group, not official Q Support. DO NOT Google "Quicken Support", use the link. There are several fraudulent group claiming to be "Q Support" who, at best, will charge you a bunch of money and actually do nothing.

I kinda suspect, however, that your only remedy is to buy a newer version of Q and install that. BUT, depending upon which Q product you were running, there might be other options. SO, which product?

Also, do you have a backup of your Q data file from before the crash … one that was saved off of the computer (say, on a USB drive, a CD or elsewhere OFF of your computer)? If not, then your data is probably lost also.

And, you're getting "no internet" because Q2017 is looking for a webserver that was shut down when Intuit sold Quicken a few years back.
