All of my transactions since late January / early February 2020 are missing.

Did you mistakenly open an old file? Did you recently do a restore of an old file?
Do a Windows search for files ending in .QDF to see what other Q data files you have on your computer.
Update: for some reason an old copy of the data file ended up on windows desktop which is my default data file. I was able to find a data file from a couple of days ago in the quicken folder and imported it. I then saved it both to the desktop and onto a flash drive as result everything is back to normal.
