Export Account Category List to Excel in Windows Classic Quicken (Subscription 2024)

Where is the function to export Category List to Excel in Windows Classic Quicken (Subscription 2024)?

I need to import from CSV and Excel files into Quicken and all the paid and free tools require configuration with the current Account Categories list.

Right now our data is held hostage by Quicken corporation. It is extortion and ransomware to require a current subscription to continue access my data from years ago. Data lock is not an unscrupulous and unpleasant way to hold on to customers in 2024. That kind of hostage-taking died with mid-2000s with other dinosaurs.

Import (and export) from CSV, Excel, and SQL should be standard, provided by Quicken, and supported. Open data is a customer right, not a privilege!

One way to export the Category List to Excel is to create a report by going to Reports/Spending/Itemized Categories. At the top right of the created report is an icon for exporting the report to excel. You will get more data than just the Categories but you can edit the report in Excel to have only the information you want.
