Several random issues with transactions and seems to be getting worse

Quicken Classic Deluxe, Version R60.15, Build 27.1.60.15, Windows 10 Home, ~50 accounts (~20 linked across 6 institutions)

I've been experiencing several issues over the last few months that have cost me significant time to try and correct, having to restore backups, etc.

- Most issues seemed to start when a couple Chase accounts had cleared years of transactions, I had to restore a backup, un-link all Chase accounts, manually update months of transactions, re-link Chase, and update, and even then it altered a couple transactions including the starting balances.

- It has tried to link transfers to unrelated transactions that are several weeks apart.

- In an unlinked investment account I found a previously manually entered stock reinvestment entry from separate brokerage account.

- In that same account a stock purchase from 11 months ago was missing and the cash transfer in that was used to fund that purchase was missing, although the transfer transaction still existed in the checking account, still linked to the investment account; I had to remove the transfer account from the transaction and re-add it before it'd show up in the investment account.

- Sometimes when editing a transaction and it drops to the next in line the display will mirror the previous, like it's duplicating it. If I alter it, it'll save it, but if I click to a different account and back sometimes it will refresh, sometimes I have to close Quicken and re-open for it to restore the correct transaction data.

- Saved payee config sometimes resets; I have Amazon set to never auto categorize and locked yet sometimes when auto-updating it'll set 50+ transactions all to the last-used category; this is not specific to Amazon.

- While Ally investment accounts are linked I don't think it actually imports anything, just complains about a mismatch that isn't valid.

Auto-categorization sometimes altering, Ally not syncing properly, and random other auto-sync issues have always been occasional and I've dealt with it, but random transactions getting altered, deleted, or moved to other accounts is becoming a significant issue; these are sometimes years in the past and not found until I've spent hours making other updates and then have to decide whether to restore a backup and start over or dig through years of transactions to find the error and hope there's not additional problems elsewhere.

Also, it now shows 4 instances/files in the File menu dropdown and the active/primary one is named 'Quicken-2024-09-19.AM07.32' (one of the first major backup restores I had to do). How do I close out the other instances that are no longer relevant and ideally rename this one to something generic? Can I close out all 4 (and how) and manually rename and then 'open' the active one?

In Edit/Preferences/Mobile & Web are Sync preferences turned on? I find that Quicken Cloud/QMobile cause a lot of problems which includes the one you described. I have tried many times to use Quicken Cloud/QMobile and have been disappointed everytime. It is not worth the effort and have given up using them. By turning off Sync Preferences I no longer have any issues with Quicken.

Yes, sync is enabled, I can try turning that off. I do use them periodically, but not often enough to justify if causing an issue. I'll try disabling it, thank you.
