My question was Is there a way to overwrite a new portfolio over an existing portfolio?
My portfolio was pretty much all over the place by manual adding whatever Q was asking/missing.
I then went to open another Q file with just the investing portfolio.
What a difference, as I let the investment broker download all the information, they had pretty much cleaned up the entire portfolio i.e. bought, removed, divx and etc.
2025 will starts a new fresh file if I need anything from 2024 accounts and for years past I can go back and print what I need.
My original question was a how could I put /overwrite in the current file Im using in my investments.
Thanks to all for the help happy new year and the best to all

Hello @pt216,
If you're wanting to start fresh with a new portfolio, creating a new file is the simplest way to do it.
If you're wanting to do it without creating a new file, there isn't really a simple tool to accomplish it. Is the incorrect information coming from just one account or multiple? Do you need to save any of the history from the problem account(s)?
I look forward to your response!

And, there's no way to restore anything less than the full Q data file. You could restore to a different file name, export the investment transactions, import them into a new & empty account and try moving them over … but that's an error-prone and tedious process.
I suspect that you'd be better off just deleting the current account and them importing. BUT BE AWARE that any transactions in the investment account that are transfers to/from other accounts will be screwed up.
OBVIOUSLY, take lots of before & during backups if you try this.
