Quicken Blew Up my 2025 Budget (again)

Just as it did in 2024, Quicken ruined my 2025 budget rather than rolling over the previous year's budget. This happened last year and even after support "help" I still had to start over and manually build a new budget. If this were free software, fine, but I'm paying a premium monthly and it should work. Does anyone have suggestions on how to successfully roll over the 2024 budget to 2025? Currently mine is just total garbage with 90% of my budget categories missing and my revenue not included. Appreciate anyone's thoughts. Thank you and Happy New Year.

Hello @thadcaper,
What are the exact steps that you are taking to roll over and begin your 2025 budget? Are you receiving any error codes or messages? What exactly occurs?
Let me know!

My 2025 budget did the same as above, and the same as last year. When I opened Quicken yesterday, the program told me that it created a 2025 budget for me. I went in and found that it took my 2024 budget numbers and created 2025. I then spent hours updating my budget for the new year. Everything seemed fine until today (next day). I opened up my 2025 budget to find most of my expense categories are gone and it looks like all of the budget numbers reverted back to 2024. It did keep my budget notes that i put in for 2025 in each "cell". Since I also updated all of my accounts for month end reconciliation, I do not want to restore from a previous version. I believe that last year, I just waited a day or two and everything was back to where it should be. Is that going to be the case this year?

Hi Jasmine - I didn't do anything, just as ManiJ mentioned above, I opened Quicken on Jan. 1, it said it created my budget based on 2024 budget, but the new budget is just a bunch of random mess with none of my categories rolled over. The exact same thing happened last year, and I had to spend hours rebuilding a budget, which is just not acceptable for software I'm paying for. I just tried chatting with Quicken support and they were absolutely no help telling me I'd have to recreate a budget, without offering to troubleshoot at all. @Quicken Jasmine

thadcaper - After no response from Quicken on this I looked and found a backup that was done a few hours after I created my budget. I ended up restoring with this backup and I had my new 2025 budget back. I then had to redo transactions I did after the backup time. That was much easier than recreating the budget, for me.
Good Luck!
ManiJ
