Can't get rid of ACCT_1379a [solved]

Under Reports & Graphs Easy Answer, I can ask "How much did I spend on …?". QWin R60.15 pops up the menu of categories right at ACCT_1379a. (It happens to be alphanumerically first after the built-in "_" categories.)

This bogus category does not show in the Category List even when showing hidden categories so I can't delete it. File validation, super-validation, and copy do not notice or remove it. Anyone know a secret way to get rid of this?

Never mind. I found the way to delete this category. My Cat List was showing Used Only. When I switched to Unused Only, there was the bogus cat, ready for deletion.

Tripped over a Filter setting again?
That's why I always recommend the following:

When reviewing your Tools / Category List please make sure that
• the Category List is set to "Show Full List" and
• "[x] Show hidden categories" is selected and
• the list is sorted by category (if the Category column title does not have a "▲" in it, click the title to sort the list) and
• the grey sidebar is set to show All Categories

You should now be able to spot anomalies.
It's been reported that previously invisible categories named ACCT_xxxx or TEMP_xxxx (where xxxx is a 3-digit or longer decimal or hexadecimal number) are now causing problems displaying categories in selection lists. These categories need to be deleted to restore your category selection lists to normal.

Several years ago there was a bug in the transaction download process which, when an error occurred, left temporary accounts behind. Validate and Supervalidate was needed to eliminate them. Apparently, a leftover category entry may still pop up on occasion. It should be easy to delete from Tools / Category List.
