After a few years I am evaluating Quicken for Mac vs Quicken for Windows. I checked a few years ago and found that the Mac version was not suitable for how I track investments. I run parallels desktop on my mac, solely to be able to use Quicken Windows. Now I find that most of the Mac version is either superior, or just different. The Mac version is much quicker, and if adopted, I could get rid of my Windows virtual machine.

The one feature I really miss on the Mac version is real time quotes. Since Quicken already supports real time quotes for Windows, I suspect it would not be too hard to add it to the Mac version. So this is my request to add it to Quicken for Mac. I suspect there is already an open request for this feature, but I couldn't find it via the search function.

I'm in the same boat. It feels like the priority for Mac (classic, premier) is budget and paying bills, since there are so many other investment tracking features in the Windows version. Yet, the Mac version is as you said - cleaner, faster, "different." Regardless, Just a few more tweaks in the Mac version would make it so much better for investing. One is the real time quotes, another would be more custom views in the portfolio section - especially with some of the additional columns available like earnings date, PEG ratios, dividend date, etc.. Frankly I could live without many of them, but would love to see above plus the extra mutual fund / ETF oriented metrics like the Morningstar stars ratings.

Quicken Premier Mac Classic (since 2022), Quicken Premiere Windows (1995 - current, but not actively using since Mac conversion)
