Is there a way to change a transfer category (credit card) to a spending category?

The term "transfer category" is an oxymoron. In Q, a category is either an Income or an Expense. One makes you wealthier and the other poorer.
A transfer does neither. It merely moves an asset (usually cash) from one account to another.
SO, what exactly are you trying to do?
All the spending and charges should be in your credit card register. Just include the credit card account in your reports.
