memo field and linked checking

I'd like to be able to enter a little something in the memo field of a brokerage account's linked checking. "YOU BOUGHT" is not as helpful as what I'd like to enter. Indeed, in this case, it's a bit misleading.

The program insists that I should enter my memo in the brokerage account ledger. Fine. But when I do that, it does not show up in the linked checking ledger. Why? Please eliminate this unnecessary constraint? But if you can't, or there's a good reason I can't figure, then please supply the mirroring between the two ledgers that is implicitly promised.
