Windows to Mac conversion does not handle ESPP sales correctly

I am trying to convert from Quicken Windows to Quicken Mac but the conversion does not handle my ESPP sales correctly. I have an account with both RSU and ESPP shares in it. The commission is way off for these sales - Quicken Mac shows commissions in the hundreds or even thousands of dollars when in reality they are closer to $10 - $20. As far as I can tell every transaction is like this. The cash balance in the account is different as a result. Does Quicken support ESPP shares in their Mac product, and do they support conversions of investment accounts with ESPP shares in them?

Hello @gravedee,
Thank you for your question. I understand how frustrating it can be when conversions don’t handle data accurately. Quicken Mac does support ESPP (Employee Stock Purchase Plan) shares, but there can sometimes be discrepancies during conversions from Quicken Windows to Quicken Mac, particularly for investment accounts with complex transactions like RSUs and ESPPs.
The issue with commission amounts being displayed incorrectly could be due to differences in how Quicken Mac interprets the data during conversion. To address this, I recommend the following steps:
- Review the Conversion Log: After converting your data, Quicken generates a log file that may help identify the discrepancies. You can find this log in the same location as your converted data file.
- Manually Verify Key Transactions: Double-check the commission details for ESPP transactions in both Quicken Windows and Quicken Mac to pinpoint where the issue occurs.
- Adjust Transactions Manually: If discrepancies are consistent across transactions, you may need to manually correct the commission amounts in Quicken Mac.
Additionally, please ensure that both your Quicken Windows and Quicken Mac software are updated to the latest versions, as updates often include fixes for known issues.
Let me know if you need further assistance!
