subscription expired now renewed, can't reinstall on Mac OS Sequioa

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry! I haven't ever had much success with Quicken for Mac after decades of using Quicken for Windows. In fact since I could not transfer my Quicken for windows transactions data to my Mac Mini, I gave up on it all together and have been just booting up my old Windows computer, just to run Quicken (Deluxe). And I hate having to deal with MS Windows! I'm now on a complete Apple Landscape. So I decided to start from scratch with the Mac version and manually enter my account and catigories etc. I renewed my expired subscription and my Windows version returned to working normally. But not the Mac version which had not been used for more than a year, and since then, Mac OS updated from Ventura to Sequoia. I've tried to follow the instructions which tell me to move the old install to trash from applications and then find an old version and install that. But which version? I have no idea which! [Removed - Rant] Why can't it just work? And work the same way it did in Windows? [Removed - Rant] I'd rather not ever have to deal with anything Microsoft ever again.
Any ideas how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

If Quicken Mac is acting like you still have an expired subscription or is not updating then try logging out of your Quicken account & then logging in again and then select Check For Updates from the menu. If that doesn’t work then log into your account at the Quicken.com website and download the latest Mac software from there.

I don't think I'm understanding the problem you're encountering. I'm not clear why you're trying to install an older version, rather than the most recent version. As @Jon said, you want to visit quicken.com, log into your account, and download the Quicken Mac installer:
When the installer downloads to your Mac, double-click it and let it install the current version. (It shouldn't be necessary to first move Quicken.app in the Applications folder to the Trash, but it can't hurt to do so.) Then, locate your most recent Quicken data file and double-click it to launch Quicken. It should tell you it is updating your database and then open the file. If it asks you to log in with your QuickenID and password, do so; if it doesn't, you can do Sign Out on the Quicken menu followed by Sign In to make sure your membership information is refreshed and up-to-date. On the Quicken menu, select About Quicken to verify that you are running "Version 8.0.1 (Build 800.56243.100)", which is the current released version.
If you're running into a roadblock somewhere in this sequence, please post back and tell us what you've done so far, and where you've run into a problem.

All of your Windows data [other than Business/Rental Property feature data] should transfer 'easily' to QMac… I switched a couple of years ago and have 30 years of Windows data, including old/closed accounts/etc, for historical searches/whatever.
If you are having problems moving your data over, visit the "File Conversion (Mac)" forum:
To see if any past discussions help you… or post a new question with clear/specific descriptions of what does or doesn't work. There are at least 3 ways of moving the data over, and for some reason, some of those methods work for some and not for others. (For example, my file was too big for the cloud converter, but exporting from QWin and then importing the exported data worked perfectly.)

Wow, I didn't expect so much response! Thank you all!
First, I did manage to get Quicken for Mac up and running again. Jabobs, no worry, I didn't understand the problem I have been having either. Its just bizaar. I decided to start over, and this is before I saw your post here. I logged into my account and downloaded the the latest version for Mac — the same page that you show in your post. I installed it and got the same message as before that my subscription has expired with directions to download an older version, which I had already done a few times. Since I hadn't use the Mac version for a while I didn't know when it last updated. So I chose a very old version from 2021 and installed that. Then I got a message that this version was old and needs to be updated. But I needed to login and pay to renew my subscription. Well I may have gotten to this point before, but since I had already renewed, I iignored it out of frustration. Anyway this time I logged in, and the program updated and then worked.
MontanaKarl,
I can only tell you that when I first installed Quicken for Mac, I went through the recommended procedure to transfer my Windows data file over to Mac and all my accounts and categories transferred, but not all of my register transactions for those accounts. I seem to remember asking about this and was told it was normal, the Window transactions would not transfer over. I'll check out the file conversion link that you provided. Atm, all my accounts and categories seem to be working, but my old windows transactions are not there. Thank you. And thank you all again for your input. Much appreciated.
