Sync issues

I am trying sync 2 laptops, so my wife and I can use the same file at different times. I copied my quicken file to my wife's laptop, and we're set up on Mobile & Web. I opened Q on my laptop and selected all accounts to sync and sync'd my account to the cloud. I closed Q and signed in to Q on my wife's laptop. I sync'd accounts but the transaction that I did on my laptop does not appear on her laptop. I am looking to have my transactions appear on her laptop and visa versa. Can't figure out what to do and where to look next. Help please. Both running Windows 10, Q Classic Premier

The Sync feature is to sync one Quicken data file with its "Mobile & Web" companion platforms. It is not designed to sync it across multiple computers. I recognize that this might be confusing in the way we all think of Sync.
So if you want to use Quicken on a second laptop/desktop, there are two ways of doing it:
- Use the desktop version on the main computer, and on the second computer access the data using the Web version of Quicken via your browser, or
- Move the data file back and forth between the two computers (via a USB thumb drive for example) - taking care that you are ALWAYS working with the latest version. Notice I wrote move, because once you use it on another machine, your old file becomes out of date and you should discard it or it can lead to problems.

can my wife post transactions on her laptop and have them update the cloud allowing me to have my desktop version
sync’d with the updated transactions? I mean that’s kind of the point, right?0 -

sync’d with the updated transactions? I mean that’s kind of the point, right? We need to set some clarification or assumptions first which are: You with the desktop installed Quicken program; your wife with the Quicken's Web interface via a browser.
The answer to your question is yes.
Caveat: I have completely disabled the Sync function (hence Quicken's Mobile & Web) due to data integrity issues it caused for me. I would like to invite the SuperUsers experienced with Quicken's Web to chime in please.

I use desktop. How do i get the Quicken's web interface for my wife's laptop? I thought we both had to have the cloud/web interface?

No. You install the Quicken program for you as you have already.
For your wife, you don't need to install anything (and you can uninstall Quicken on hers if you wish). The Quicken on the web can be accessed via this URL: https://app.quicken.com/

I guess I am not making myself clear. I want to post transactions on my computer, sync and exit. Then my wife wants to post a transaction on her laptop. We want to be able to open Q on her laptop, post a transaction then sync and close. We understand that both can not be open at the same time.

@erbfour , You have been clear in what you are trying to accomplish but your approach may lead to data integrity issues based on user experiences, or may not always work as you wrote in your original post:
… I sync'd accounts but the transaction that I did on my laptop does not appear on her laptop …
I suggest that you search for using Quicken on two computers within this community and read multiple posts. Also contact Quicken support to see what they would recommend.
