Can't Add Morgan Stanley Private Bank CD Account
I am using Quicken Classic Deluxe Release 27.1.60.20 on a Windows 11 PC. I have a brokerage account with eTrade and a bank account (that has a zero balance), and just opened a CD account. I can't figure out how to add that CD account to my Quicken register. When I try using eTrade Bank, all I get is my zero balance savings account. None of the other options work either…whether for eTrade or Morgan Stanley. How can I get my new CD account to show in my Quicken register?

Hello @Jan G,
Thank you for sharing the issue you're encountering when trying to add your CD to Quicken. To help troubleshoot this, please provide more information. Are you the account owner? What is the URL that you use when logging into the account directly through the financial institution website? Is the account a sub-account?
While some financial institutions do allow you to connect a CD in your Quicken, the recommended way to track a CD is to set it up as a Security. Please see this support article for more information:
I look forward to your reply!

Thanks for trying, but after contact eTrade/Morgan Stanley Private Banking (the bank where my CD is, I've learned that Morgan Stanley Private Banking does NOT allow syncing to Quiken. Guess I'll just have to add monthly interest manually. Oh well ….

Thank you for the follow-up,
I'm glad you were able to find out from the financial institution why you were unable to add the account, although I'm sorry to hear that the reason is that they don't support it. It sounds like you already have the account set up for manual tracking, but if you need further information on tracking CDs manually, here are a couple Community discussions you may find helpful:
Please feel free to reach out if you need further assistance!
