@Quicken Kristina I wanted to update you on the past 10 days trying to understand issues surrounding Vanguard download issue via Direct Connect for Mac. On Friday (5/21/25), I was told by a very helpful Quicken phone support rep that Vanguard has discontinued support for Direct Connect via Quicken for Mac subscribers and that their only option for auto-downloads is Web Connect for simple share and dollar balances—no individual transactions or associated detail. This was news to me and to the many Vanguard reps AND Quicken community moderators, all of whom have insisted for nearly a month that Quicken and Vanguard are both working toward resolving the issue.

My most recent call with Vanguard (earlier on 5/21/25) with a similarly helpful rep informed me that a) Vanguard had closed as "resolved" my support ticket on 16503 errors in Direct Connect for Mac and b) after I challenged that assertion and demonstrated the problem, Vanguard techs had agreed to open a new ticket and investigate further.

The new information that Vanguard no longer supports Direct Connect for Mac subscribers is at least consistent with my experience. It's terribly frustrating to be variously told a) the problem is being worked on and b) the problem has been resolved and c) it's the other company's problem. At the least, it would be helpful if someone at a responsible level in both companies could establish the facts and communicate them to customers via community and technical support staff. Mac users could then decide for themselves whether manual downloads (monthly or weekly) via QFX files manually imported into Quicken was a practical longterm solution.
