Partial downloads

Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

Today I tried to download new transactions into Quicken from three of my charge cards that I have used successfully for years. None of the three worked correctly. No error message, but most of the transactions from January do not show. A few recent transactions only get downloaded. The online balance updates correctly. I've chatted with Quicken support but their suggestions did not work. The banks were Costco Citi, AMEX and US Bank. All three in one day! The problem has to be at your end!

For each of the FIs that you mention, what is your download method? Direct Connect? Express Web Connect+? Web Connect?
Do TOOLS, Account List and look in the Transaction Download column for this info.

And note that it's the FI, not Q, that determines how far back a download initiated from within Q can go. Are the "missing" transactions from the 1st week of January, which would indicate that the FI might have a 30-day limit?

AND, are the missing transactions recurring? Which could indicate that Q matched them to a prior download.

Lastly, which Q product and what BUILD of that product are you running? Do HELP, About Quicken for this info.

All are Express Web Connect +

For years I have downloaded the transactions about every 30 days. I have never had a date day limit.

There may be a recurring transaction or two but that has never been an issue. There are a lot of other January credit card transactions that did not download from three different banks today, even though the online balance total updates to show the correct total current amount for each of the banks. With this happening for the first time with three different banks, this must be a Quicken issue.

The build is R60.20 on a Windows 11 Computer.

I am hoping that Quicken will resolve the issue in the next few days. I'll try again every day to see, & post any developments.

Thanks for your interest in helping.

The Online Balance is a downloaded, not calculated, figure. BUT, if it matches the amount in the Balance column (which IS calculated) then those transactions must have downloaded and be present somewhere in your registers.

Are your accounts filtered? Perhaps to show only certain dates or certain statuses? Click the RESET button at the top of each register and see if that changes anything.

When was the last time that you reconciled these accounts? Are there any transactions that fall prior to the last reconciliation that aren't marked "R"? (Thinking, perhaps bad dates here). EWC+ typically uses "screen scraping" to gather the info, so have there been recent changes to the various websites and could have confounded the scrape?

The Online Balance (which is correct based upon calling Citi) does not match the Balance column. The Balance column is missing most transactions from January (except for late Jan.), so it doesn't match.

    I don't think I have any filtering.

I reconcile every month. I manually add payment transactions after a download when I make the payment. When I download transactions it shows last month's payment as a "match", so that duplicate transaction does not get entered.

Today after installing the Quicken R61.16 update I did another download for the Costco Go Anywhere Citi card and it downloaded a couple of transactions from the last couple of days, but it still did not download the numerous transactions from earlier in January. So bottom line: Only late January and all Feb. (so far) transactions are the only ones that get downloaded for my three charge cards in question. It's like there was a human entry error somewhere when the year changed to 2025 (I'm sure you've seen people enter the wrong year when they write a check in January).

So I'll try daily downloads, and as long as new Feb. transactions continue to download, I'll just enter the missing Jan. transactions manually.

I checked for filtering. None. It says "All Dates" "Any Type" "All Transactions"

I am seeing this happening as well and it just started in January. The online balance listed is correct, but the running balance is not because all transactions are not being downloaded for at least two accounts. I am set up similar as Slim2, no filtering, etc. One account uses Direct Connect while the other is Express Web Connect+

When I get in this state, I can convince quicken to download transactions if I reset or deactivate & reactivate each account having problems. Note, i first deactivate all accounts if they use the same login to the financial company.
