One bank account is showing up twice under banking [Edited]

Hello one of my bank accounts is showing twice under banking. The one account shows all my deposits from paid invoices and the balance is way high. Under the other one the balance is reflecting very close to the actual balance of the account. It may have something to do with me not knowing how to properly use quicken. Im trying to learn how to use is properly now but im not sure what to do with the account showing twice.

Hi @degoertzen
Based on the limited information provided, it is difficult to diagnose what may have happened to create the situation you described.
Do you have a good backup file from a time before other bank account first appeared? If so, I suggest that you revert to that backup file.

So if I remember correctly it has been on there twice since I connected it. It originally showed up under personal and under business and I switched the business one to personal and now it just shows twice under personal. Would it have something to do with it being a business account at my bank and me trying to call it personal on quicken? I don't separated between business and personal on my books because I'm a sole proprietor LLC and I just do one tax return so it's simpler that way.

Hi again @degoertzen
To answer your question above - No, it likely would not be related to what you are "calling the account" in your Quicken datafile.
But the statement you made about that these issues started after you "connected" the account, seems to indicate that you now have two bank accounts in your Quicken datafile that are actually the same account. I think that you duplicated the original bank account in Quicken when you "connected it" for online downloads.
To confirm this, please go to "Tools" > "Account List" > click on "All Accounts" in the upper left. Then find each account and tell us what you see in the "Transaction Download" column.
I suspect that one account will have a dash in that "Transaction Download" column. If it does, you will need to delete that account because it is a duplicate. But before you delete it, you will likely need to move some of the transactions from it to the other account, before you delete it.
Let me know how that goes.

Sorry i took so long to reply. I finally got a chance to look at it again. So yes the account shows up twice under all accounts but i dont see a dash behind it. Im thinking going a different route now and just completely starting over with quicken. Can i save the last year in a file so that i can still see all my invoices and then delete everything and start over? or maybe theres a better way to do it. All three bank accounts that i have linked are way off on the balance and a couple credit cards are wrong to. Im just thinking at this point it would be easiest to start over and try to do things right from the get go. Been watching a lot of videos and learing how to properly use quicken!
