Sounds in Q Mac

Up until a day or two ago, I used to have sounds in Q Mac - for example, the whoosh sound when you delete a transaction. Now I have no sounds in Q but all other sounds are working normally on my Mac. Any idea what I need to do to reactivate sounds in Q?

I don't remember modern Quicken Mac (from Essentials forward) having any sound effects. I know Quicken Windows does; I can't recall now whether the old Quicken Mac (2007 & earlier) did.

Going through the preferences file the only setting I saw that seemed at all related to audio had something to do with voiceovers; setting that to true didn't cause Quicken to start making any sounds. And looking inside the Quicken application bundle I don't see any sound files so I don't know where those would be coming from unless they're canned sound effects provided by Mac OS.

There's a setting in System Settings under sound for playing UI sound effects, you might check to make sure that's turned on but enabling it didn't do anything for me wrt Quicken.

Thanks! My UI sound option was turned on but I tried turning if off then back on again and that appears to have fixed the issue.

Weird - I turned that System Setting off & on again and started getting sounds too. I don't know why it didn't work the first time - I made sure to restart the app after changing the setting.

Is there any sound other than the little "whoosh" noise when you delete a transaction? That's the only one I think I'm aware of. And it works consistently for me.

that's the only one I can recall offhand but I think there are a few others as well…I know it's not a big deal, but this should not be happening
