Strange Update is failing

When I start Quicken, it tried to do an update. However, this is not the usual one that updates Quicken itself to the latest version. I'm fully up to date there at 61.20. Instead, it's trying to update files with names that start with How-Do-I and What-If. There are also files that are of the format #######.html where # is a digit. They go by so fast I can't get an actual name. The update says it fails and ir rolls back. Quicken itself runs just fine. This has been going on for a few weeks. I tried updating with the 61.20 mondo patch but that also fails. Anyone else seeing this? As I said, Quicken runs just fine and this is NOT the usual version update. I suspect it may be a help system update.

Hello @cdennett,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.
I would like to gather some more information in order to better assist you. It sounds like this issue might be related to Quicken's help system or some other non-core update rather than a standard version update. To help narrow it down, could you provide more details on the exact error message you’re seeing when the update fails? Does it include an error code or any additional details? You mentioned IPv6—have you tried disabling it on your network adapter to see if that makes a difference? Also, are you running Quicken as an administrator by right-clicking the icon and selecting "Run as Administrator"? Sometimes security software can interfere with updates—have you tried temporarily disabling your antivirus or firewall to see if that helps? Additionally, are you able to access Quicken's Help feature manually by pressing F1, and do the help topics load correctly? It’s also worth checking if you have full read/write permissions for the Quicken installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken).
Let me know!

There is a small popup showing the progress of the update. It has the steps:
Downloading update
Extracting files
Backing up files
Updating files
Rolling back filesThe Updating files ends up with a red X next to it. The others have green check marks. The popup dismisses itself withing a second of the last line. No error codes or any other details.
I never mentioned IPv6 so I don't know where you got that from.
I am not (and never have) run as an admin.
Hitting F1 brings up the help window. It appears normal. However, there is a link at the bottom of the window labeled Switch to local help. If I click that, the help window blanks.
Now, here's something you will probably not like. I'm not running this under windows. About 2 years ago my Windows machine had a hardware failure. I have a Linux server (Fedora) and purchased a license for a package called Crossover. It's a commercial and supported implementation of another Linux package called WINE (Wine Is Not an Emulator) that provides a Windows environment in which to run Windows programs. Lots of others use it and it has been working perfectly for all this time.

If I may comment here … You mentioned IPv6 in a previous discussion.
To solve your problem I would suggest that you download and install the latest Manual Patch file from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product to ensure your Quicken software is up to date and correctly installed. Using this patch file replaces all installation files.

Thanks for the comment. However, as I mentioned I tried downloading and installing the latest manual patch (aka mondo patch) and it failed. I'm guessing I may have to wait for an update to the crossover software. One is due soon. I have reported this to the crossover people.
