    Hello @sfrolls01,

Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. There is a known issue for Windows users connecting to Vanguard, but the error they're reporting is OL-295. See this Community Alert for more information:

Most likely, you are being impacted by the same issue. Since you are seeing a slightly different error code, you may want to try the troubleshooting for OL-297 errors:

    I hope this helps!

I was getting this error first noted 2/20/25 using Direct Connect with Quicken for Mac to connect with Vanguard.

I changed to Quicken Connect and now it is syncing fine.

I recommend logging into Vanguard's website, then searching for Quicken, and then follow the link to authorize Quicken Connect.

Then go into Quicken, clicking a Vanguard account in the side bar, then going to the account pull down menu and selecting settings, then click downloads in the pop up box, and then change connection, and then select Quicken connect. You will then be prompted to connect your accounts in Quicken with those on Vanguard one by one. This can be challenging if you have a lot of accounts, especially of the same type, so I have learned to put the last 4 of my account numbers in the account name within Quicken to facilitate the pairing process.

    Worked great for me.

Thank you for joining the discussion @jcgraff,

Thank you for sharing the resolution you found! Hopefully this will help others encountering this problem.

If you are connecting via Quicken Connect, does that mean it is allowing only Simple Investment tracking (see sample screenshots below)?

    Thank you!

I was able to manually download a Quicken file and successfully import transactions. Sometimes when you have a connect method setup it doesn't allow but in this case it was pretty flawless. The only thing was for a Target retirement account you have to tell it what fund to fund as of course those don't have ticker symbols.

How do I change connection type? Explanation above does not work for me.

Thank you for your reply @sfrolls01,

People using Quicken for Mac can change the connection type.

It looks like the Vanguard connection in Quicken for Windows does not offer that option, but you are able to update some information via Web Connect (importing a QFX file directly from Vanguard into Quicken). Note - Please backup your Quicken file prior to importing a QFX file.

    I hope this helps!
