How to remove "APLPAY" from each payee name

Member ✭✭

Quicken downloads transactions correctly, but it appends "Aplpay" in front of each payee where apple pay was used. I have hundreds of such transactions, and would like to clear them up by removing "aplpay" from the beginning.

Editing and removing them one by one is not ideal. Editing multiple payees only allows me to change the name completely, not just remove part of the name. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Would also like to know how to strip this from the name as each transaction is downloaded, without creating hundreds of individual renaming rules.

How about Q's already existing "Find/Replace" function?

For already existing register transactions, it would be too late to think about Renaming Rules.
Edit / Find/Replace is the only way to fix that.

However, for newly downloaded transactions, if you manually review and accept each transaction individually, you can let Quicken help you define a new Renaming Rule for a new Payee Name. Edit the payee name in the new register transaction line to what it should be. When you save/accept the transaction, Quicken should prompt you to create a Renaming Rule for you. Future new transactions for the same payee will automatically be renamed.

Of course, you need to have all three Renaming Rules settings enabled in Preferences / Downloaded Transactions to make this work.
