Which files can I safely delete?

I have used Quicken for decades and over time many files have accumulated in my Quicken folder. I want to know which I can safely delete.

The main types of files I am asking about are:

….FXLOG.DAT

….SyncLog.dat

….qfxold.dat

….OldSyncLog.dat

….oldofxlog.dat

Because I have renamed my main qdf file each new year, there are several versions of some of the above files prefixed by the old year names.

example: ….2023FXLOG.DAT, ….2022FXLOG.DAT, etc.

So can I delete all these old files cluttering up my Quicken folder?

Thank you.

Those are log files and help with troubleshooting and contain history of downloads, syncs, errors etc. i.e. Help menu > Contact Support > Log files. No harm to keep or delete them if you wish and I personally delete all of mine perhaps once a month or so. The files that matter are your main (.QDF) and backup (.QDF-backup) files.

All those file with OLD in the name can be deleted, and they won't automatically come back unless you cause them to do so.

The others will be re-created by Q, for your current data file, as needed by Q.
