All transactions overwritten

I was entering transactions in an investment account. As I finished one entry I was asked if I want to save it. Answering yes, every transaction in the account was suddenly changed to the same date and Action was changed to MiscExp. The new date for all trx is the date of the one I entered, but the Action I entered was ReinvDiv. I didn't see any indication that the entire account was highlighted or that anything else was abnormal.

I did a quick search and learned that I cannot restore a single account from Backup. I have recent backups, but I have made end-of-month updates to several accounts so restoring will create a certain amount of additional work.

What would cause such a massive change to existing data? Is it a bug or user error? I've been using Quicken since the DOS days and have never seen a similar problem. Any suggestions for recovering my data short of restoring from backup?

Although I had gone out and into the overwritten account several times last night with no change, when I logged in this morning the account had all the correct entries, including those I had created last night.

Extremely relieved and grateful, I don't understand what caused the errors it displayed last night. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Here is one prior post reporting the issue. There was another, but it has been archived and won’t be viewable.

@rowalker I had that same thing happen to me this weekend. (R61.20) I tried changing to a different register once to no effect. I then closed the program and re-opened. The correct data was still there. Struck me as a some graphical interface issue. Had me holding my breath for a few minutes.
