Income/Expense by Category – Error

Amazon – Purchases = $691.12 Returns = $2693.58 Difference is -2002.46,
This entry should reflect a reduction in expenses for Amazon by $2002.46, not as an expense.

From your screenshot, it appears that "Amazon" is the name of the category. In your transaction register, is this same category being used for both expenses and returns?
Additionally, please navigate to Tools > Category List and search for the category "Amazon". Under the Type column, does it show as Expense or Income?

Yes, it did say expense.
However, I've done an extensive review of charges on the Amazon card. The bottom line is that quicken is correct, and it is my wife that is wrong! Her sales were $4500.28 in February, and returns were $824.64, so we spent $3675.64 in the month of February for Amazon purchases. Without Quicken budgeting I would never have understood why me credit card payments were so high.
